Father Of Late Dowen College Student, Sylvester Oromoni, Reacts After Court Granted Suspects Of His Son’s Death Bail
The father of a 12-year-old Dowen College student, Sylvester Oromoni, who died after he was allegedly bullied, said he was shocked that the court would grant bail to the five students who were suspected to be involved in his son’s death.
A Lagos Appeal court granted the suspects bail of one million naira each on the 21st of December, 2021.
The five Dowen College students faced police charges for homicide and conspiracy.
Mr. Oromoni, father of Sylvester Oromoni, said the bail conditions that the court gave were not supposed to happen as the police are still investigating the case.
“The police said they were never finished with their investigation and granting these boys’ bail would not help with their investigations, and they were planning to get an extension on the investigation if they did not finish by 21,” he said.
“We are surprised that they granted them bail when the days they gave them have yet to expire.” “As a parent, we are not comfortable with that, although we cannot question the judge.” He added
