Tanker Falls, Spills Diesel On Lagos-Ibadan Highway

A diesel-laden tanker believed to be owned by Conoil PLC crashed along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, spilling its cargo.

According to reports, The tanker overturned on the highway, causing traffic delays.

According to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the incident occurred on Monday afternoon around the Kara bridge on the expressway’s outward section.

Florence Okpe, the FRSC spokesperson in Ogun State, said operatives from the corps and other sister agencies were dispatched to the scene.

Okpe added that firemen were on the scene to manage the incident and prevent a fire from breaking out.

“Motorists are advised to drive cautiously when approaching the crash area and also cooperate with traffic managers managing the situation

“Traffic couldn’t be diverted due to the location of the crash. Therefore, we advise motorists to remain calm and obey some simple rules and regulations,” Okpe said.
