Kano Big Boy Arrested For Using A Lady’s Photo To Defraud Social Media Users

The Kano big boy was arrested for allegedly using a lady’s picture to defraud social media users.

Musa Lurwanu-Maje, 26, was arrested in Kano for defrauding people on social media platforms.

According to the police, the suspect, known on social media as Musa L. Maje, specializes in creating accounts on Facebook and Whatsapp with male and female names in order to defraud his victims, particularly randy lovers.

SP Abdullahi Haruna-Kiyawa, the command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), made the announcement in Kano on Sunday. He aimed for a public outcry on the activities of the notorious fraudster in various Social Media platforms between April and June 2022.

Zahra Mansur, 20, complained that she received phone calls from her associates that someone used her name, pictures, videos, and Facebook accounts to defray people,” he said.

Haruna-Kiyawa stated that upon receiving the report, the police swung into action, utilizing technical assistance, and the suspect was apprehended. The suspect was apprehended with a N200,000 Redmi Note 11 Pro mobile phone and other accessories that he allegedly purchased with the proceeds of fraud.

“Also discovered from him were n#de pictures and videos on the mobile phone, and the sum of 70,000 naira in his possession,” the Kano Big Boy said.

He noted that during investigation, the suspect confessed to having specialised in using social media to create fake accounts to defray the public.

He further told the police that he created a fake Facebook account bearing Zahra Mansur’s name, used her pictures and videos, and defrauded people without her consent.
