14-Year-Old House Maid Who Fled With Her Madam’s 2-Year-Old Son Has Been Arrested

A 14-year-old house maid who is identified as Favour Iwuozor was arrested on the 3rd of January, 2022.

She was arrested by the Ogun state police command for abducting her employer’s 2-year-old son.

We recall that on the 31st of December, 2021, reports said that the maid ran away with the victim on December 19th, 2021.

The father of the victim, Moses Otojareri, said that the house maid was employed in the second week of November.

He added that the house maid attended church service with his wife and two children, and his wife received a call from one of her customers, leaving the house maid and her children in church to attend to the customer.

His wife had instructed Favour Iwuozor to make sure they returned to her shop after church, but she ran away with their son.

The spokesperson of the Ogun state police command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said that Favour Iwuozor was arrested after someone identified as Victoria Nwafor lodged a complaint at Sagamu divisional headquarters, that she saw a 14-year-old girl on the 22nd of December 2021, with a very sick-looking two-year old boy in Yaba, Lagos state.

She added that the girl was begging for money and food saying that the little boy was her younger brother and that their parents died in an accident in December 2020.

However, out of compassion, the woman took both of them to her house in Sagamu to take care of the little boy’s health.

But immediately after the boy recovered, the maid talked about taking the boy to Imo state.

This aroused the woman’s suspicion, and she reported it to the police.

After the report, the DPO of Sagamu division, Okiki Agunbiade, deployed his detectives to bring the house maid and the little boy to the headquarters.

After she was interrogated, the maid confessed that she was a maid to the mother of the boy, adding that she had left with the boy since the 19th of December 2021, so that she would take the boy to Amraku Umorsu in Isiala/Mberna local government area of Imo state.

She stated that she took the boy from the church during Sunday school, and because the Sunday school teacher knew her and the boy’s mother, she had no problem releasing the baby to her.
