In Niger state, the police command arrested a 25-year-old man, identified as Abubakar Mohammed Baba, for conspiring with his friend to kill his 52-year-old father, Alhaji Mohammed Baba over inheritance.
The Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Wasiu Abiodun, said in a statement yesterday that they attacked and stabbed Alhaji Mohammed Baba to death over inheritance in his house, which is located in Koropan community in the Paikoro local government area of Niger State in October, 2021.
Wasiu Abiodun explains that after they killed his father, they cut and sliced up his body and put his body parts in a sack, throwing the sack away in Tagwai-Dam.
The police spokesperson said that around 10:30am on the 29th of December 2021, based on credible intelligence, police operatives who are based in Chanchaga Division arrested Abubakar of the Gidan Madara area of Chanchaga, Minna. Because of his father’s culpable homicide and criminal conspiracy
However, after interrogation, the police said Abubakar took the police to Tagwai-Dam, where they dumped the dead body of his father.
The police added that Abubakar had worked with one of his friends, 26-year-old Aliyu, to kill his papa, and he had agreed to pay a hundred and ten thousand naira.
Abubakar first paid Aliyu fifty thousand naira and promised to pay him the remaining balance of sixty thousand naira if he completed the task.

Reports say that after his friend killed his father, Abubakar sold some of his property to raise the sixty thousand naira needed to pay his friend.
Although Aliyu had run away from the community, the police said they looked for him and promised to nab him so that he would face the law.
The suspect, Abubakar Mohammed Baba, said he killed his father. because he wanted to gain his inheritance quickly.
The police said the case is still being investigated and they will take the suspect to court for prosecution after investigation.
