The collation and announcement of the results of the Saturday Anambra state governorship election started at INEC’s headquarters in Awka at 11pm today, November 7th, 2021.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, is the umpire in the process and they will be declaring the winner of the election.
According to INEC, the requirement to be a winner in presidential and governorship elections is a simple majority of votes cast.
This means that the winner must win one quarter (25%) of the votes cast in two thirds of the States of the federation in the Presidential election, while in the Governorship election, it is of the LGAs within a State.
