“Peer Influence Almost Ruined My Life As A Teenager” – Actress Ada Ameh
Ada Ameh a veteran Nollywood, has disclosed that peer influence exposed her to ‘early sex’ leading her to early motherhood as teenager. She said that she got pregnant at 13 years old.
Ada made this known when she featured Chude Jideonwo’s ‘WithChude‘ show on TV. There on the show, she spoke about her personal life and career.
Popular for her lead role in The Johnsons series, the actress revealed that she was peer influence led her to getting pregnant at an early age of 13.
According to her revelation, her early pregnancy was not her parent’s fault. She was influenced by her peers. ”They introduced me to ‘early sex’. One thing led to another and I got pregnant. She stated further that, she was impregnated in March and put to bed in December of the same year at the age of 13+.
At her 15th birthday, her baby was barely five months old.
At 15, she was thrown out of the barrack. This supposed independence led her to alcoholism.
Unfortunately, Ameh lost her daughter, Aladi Godgift in October, 2020 in heat of the #EndSARS protest. She died of an unsuccessful surgery in Abuja at the age of 30.
Some weeks back, she visited her daughter’s grave site to mark her one year remembrance.
She regretted the mistake of allowing her daughter to leave for Abuja. She disclosed thay she’d lived with that guilt ever since.
