Olatayo Amokade, popularly known by his fans as Ijebu, has revealed that rising to stardom cost him a lot of rejection as he had once worked as a generator repairer.

In an interview with Sunday Scoop, he revealed that he started his career as a generator repairer. He noted that all the rejections he faced only made him stronger and led him to where he is today.

He stated that, “Before joining Nollywood, I was a very determined person. I always made good use of all the opportunities that came my way. ”

In an industry filled with controversies, the actor noted that he consciously avoids drama. He said, “Controversy is an unavoidable part of the game.” Especially in this time of social media. Just as one tries to avoid another, it somehow navigates itself towards one. He stated, “I just always try my best to distance myself from any drama.”

He stated further when he was asked if he could reject a role in a movie that, as an actor, he would project any role given to him to the best of his ability, even if it is x-rated.

But Ijebu noted that it is a matter of passion and love for what one is doing.

Passion for your profession, he claims, will keep you looking away from gain.He noted that in all sectors, there are good and bad days, but it is the passion one has that will keep one going.
