Nigerian music sensation, Divine Ikubor, better known as Rema, has expressed his desire to further expand his international collaborations, particularly with American superstar artists.
This comes on the heels of his recent success with the hit track ‘Calm Down,’ featuring Selena Gomez.
In an exclusive interview with the Hollywood Reporter at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards held in New Jersey, Rema shared his enthusiasm for collaborating with more female celebrities from the American music scene.
Among the prominent artists he mentioned were renowned rappers, Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion, whom he eagerly anticipates collaborating with in the near future.

Rema stated, “I’m hoping to meet Meg [Thee Stallion], Nicki [Minaj] for possible collaborations. Who else? Yeah, I wanna link up with girls dem.”
Notably, Rema made a significant mark in the music industry by clinching the title of “Best Afrobeats Song” at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards. His victory in this newly created category marked a historic achievement, as he surpassed stiff competition from established stars such as Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy. The award ceremony took place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, USA, on Tuesday.
