Grammy Awards 2022 Postponed Indefinitely Due To Spread Of Omicron Variant
The Grammy Awards has been postponed indefinitely due to the spread of the Omicron variant.
The 64th Awards event have been postponed indefinitely as a wave of COVID-19 variant spreads.
The Recording Academy announced that the reason the Grammy Awards were postponed was for safety reasons.
The awards show was said to take place on the 31st of January, 2022, but now it has been postponed but a new date has not been set.
CBS and the Awards Academy released a statement saying that holding the show on the 31st of January would have too many risks. Because of the uncertainty surrounding the Omicron Covid-19 variant.
“After careful consideration and analysis with city and state officials, health and safety experts, the artist community, and our many partners, the Recording Academy and CBS have postponed the 64th Annual Awards Show.” The statement read
“The health and safety of those in our music community, the live audience, and those who tirelessly produce the award show remains our top priority.” CBS said.
They added, “We look forward to celebrating Music’s Biggest Night on a future date, which will be announced soon.”
