Australian Government Earmarked Scholarships for International PhD Students at the University of Queensland 2024/2025

The Australian Government Earmarked Scholarships are now open for applications from both domestic and international students who wish to pursue a PhD degree at the University of Queensland for the 2024/2025 academic session.

Funded by the Australian Government, these scholarships aim to support PhD students by covering their living costs and tuition fees. Recipients will have the opportunity to work on significant national projects and collaborate with leading researchers.

Scholarship Details

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

• Have completed some research experience.
• Hold an approved university degree relevant to the proposed PhD project, completed within the last 10 years.
• Meet the English Language requirements.

Approved Degrees Include:

1. Master of Philosophy (or another research master’s degree).

2. Bachelor’s degree from an approved university with at least honours class IIA or equivalent.

3. Coursework master’s degree with an overall GPA of 5.65 on the 7-point UQ scale, including relevant research experience.

4. Postgraduate degree (minimum one year full-time or equivalent) with an overall GPA of 5 on the 7-point UQ scale, plus demonstrated research experience equivalent to honours class IIA.

5. Bachelor’s degree plus at least two years of relevant research experience, including research publications.

Scholarship Benefits

Successful applicants will receive:

• A living stipend of $35,000 per annum (tax-free, indexed annually).
• Coverage of tuition fees.
• Single Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC).
