Court Grants Mompha 200 Million Naira Bail
A Nigerian court has granted bail to Nigerian social media celebrity Ismaila Mustapha, who is popularly known as Mompha.
Mompha was granted two hundred million naira bail by Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court in Ikeja, Lagos.
The Nigerian appeared in court today to answer a case on the allegation of money laundering which the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) charged against him.
The EFCC arraigns him and his company, Ismalob Global Investment Limited, on eight counts for money laundering of over 6 billion naira.
On the 11th of January, when Mompha appeared in court, Justice Mojisola Dada of the Ikeja Special Offences Court ordered that he should be detained in EFCC custody.

But as the case resumed on the 18th of January, the defense lawyer, Boyega Oyewale, begged the court to grant the internet celebrity bail. because he had been infected with the coronavirus
Mompha spent a lot of time being medically treated.
After the judge heard all the arguments, she agreed to grant bail of 200 million naira to the 42-year-old socialite.
The court said that Mompha must present two sureties and submit his international passports. Sureties must swear an affidavit of means. Sureties must have better work and must live within the jurisdiction of the court.
Sureties must provide proof of tax payment for the past three years. Authorities should remand Mompha in prison until he meets his bail conditions.
Justice Dada later adjourned the case to the 28th and 29th of March, 2022, for further hearing.
