2023: Northern Elders, ACF Against Nnamdi Kanu’s Release – Ohanaeze Ndigbo

Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide accuses the Northern Elders Forum and the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) of being the reasons behind President Buhari’s refusal to release IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

They said that they had once predicted that President Buhari would not release Nnamdi Kanu in his New Year message to Ndigbo because of misguided assertions, infighting evidence, and utterances by certain south-eastern leaders and IPOB.

The Ohanaeze had warned that the assertions, approach, and infighting in the camp of Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) and amongst Igbo leaders would obstruct the release of Kanu through diplomatic efforts.

They added that the people who were sent to negotiate the release of Nnamdi Kanu changed their minds and used the opportunity to go after their personal gains.

They also added that Igbo political leaders and other people in charge of Nnamdi Kanu’s case are secretly benefiting from President Buhari’s casual posture of not applying the political solution for Nnamdi Kanu’s reasons.

They also added that the Northern Elders Forum, NEF, and the Arewa Consultative Forum, ACF, are behind President Buhari’s refusal to allow Nnamdi Kanu to use a political solution with evil intent to destroy the South-East ahead of the 2023 Presidency.

“Nnamdi Kanu’s trials will bring the untold tragedy of tensions and disastrous violence to the Southeast,” the Ohanaeze Ndigbo said in a statement released and signed by their secretary general, Okechukwu Isiguzoro.
