New Stars Emerge At SNEPCo Junior Tennis Championship
The Boys U-10 division of the 2021 SNEPCo Junior lawn tennis Championship, which ended this weekend in Port Harcourt, produced a ‘can’t miss’ talent.
The tournament, which included singles competitions for boys and girls in the 14s, 12s, and 10s age groups, produced a number of interesting matches, the most interesting of which was the boys U-10 finals.
In the absence of the champion, Murewa Egbeyemi, Chidubem Amasiani of Abuja ambushed Malcolm Osaji (Lagos), a contestant in the last three ITA Junior Circuit competitions.
Amasiani is a “no miss talent,” according to Godwin Kienka, Director of the International Lawn Tennis Academy.
Amasiani, United Nations agency was competitive in his first national tournament, competing with the confidence of a seasoned professional, swept through the round robin rounds with an ideal 3 score, and absolutely inferior Osaji, United Nations agency strove valiantly but futilely to fight back. Amasiani came out on top 9-2.
“Chiduben may be a good guy.”
