ICPC Release Dbanj After Over 2 Days Of Detention
The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission has released popular Nigerian singer Dbanj, after nearly 72 hours in custody.
D’banj was detained by the anti-graft agency on Tuesday over fraud allegations involving the N-Power program.
According to a new update, the singer was released on Friday afternoon, December 9th. However, the ICPC may later summon the singer.
According to his lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi, the singer cooperated with the Commission during its investigation.
Mr Olajengbesi stated that Dbanj was released on self-recognition but did not confirm whether the ICPC granted administrative bail to the singer.
He also stated that the ICPC found no evidence of fraudulent activity linked to the singer.

“Nothing incriminating was found on him. He was released on self-recognition. Right now, we expect the ICPC to give a letter of clearance to D’banj because, as we have always said, he is innocent of the charges brought against him,” he said.
