Three young ritualists were caught with a human heart; one of the ritualists is currently in police custody.
The Osun State Police Command has arrested three suspected ritualists who were found with a human heart in Osogbo/OAU Ife Campus Road, Osun State.
The suspects are identified as 25 year old Olayade Kehinde, 21 year old Olufemi Oriyomi, and 21-year-old Raimi Sheriff, were arrested on the 7th of April by police detectives on “stop and search” duty.
According to a statement which was released by the command’s spokesperson, SP Yemisi Opalola, the ritualists were flagged down on a motorcycle by police on a “Stop and Search” order.
When they were told to stop, they sped off, and were pursued.
They were later arrested in the Safejo area of Ile-Ife.
The statement added that the human heart, which the trio claimed was one of their friends’, and various criminal charms, were found on them when they were caught.
The spokesperson later added that one of the suspects who is identified as Olufemi Oriyomi, fell sick and was taken to the hospital for treatment, but unfortunately, he died while he was on admission.
According to the spokesperson, His corpse, was deposited at the state hospital for autopsy.
“The remaining two suspects will be charged in court upon the conclusion of the investigation,” she said.
