“Why I queried the doctor over my daughter’s skin color” – Bambam Opens Up On Motherhood And Dealing With Postpartum Depression (VIDEO)
In a candid interview with Chude Jideonwo, former Big Brother Naija reality star, Bamike Adenibuyan, popularly known as Bambam, shared insights into her journey through motherhood, body changes, and the challenges of postpartum depression.
Bambam expressed gratitude for her supportive husband, Teddy A, who embraced the changes in her body without making her feel body-shamed. Reflecting on her second pregnancy, she humorously remarked, “I never imagined my body would get this thick. Thank God for supportive husbands like mine.”
Recounting the shock of her first pregnancy, Bambam disclosed dealing with postpartum depression and preeclampsia. She described the drastic transformation her body underwent, from size 8 to 14/16, experiencing skin tags and acne breakouts. The surprise continued when her daughter was born with fair skin and grey eyes, later changing to brown eyes.
Bambam shared her concern about potential complications during her first pregnancy, stating, “She had detached from my placenta by the time I arrived at the hospital. So the thought of losing her… We tried going abroad, but there were setbacks.”

Opening up about the societal pressure she faced, Bambam revealed being body-shamed on social media for her plus-size appearance. However, she credited her resilience to her husband’s love and acceptance, emphasizing that Teddy A appreciated women of all sizes.
Recalling their journey from the Big Brother Naija house to marriage, Bambam and Teddy A recently celebrated their fifth anniversary. Teddy A shared the story of his surprise proposal, which came two weeks after a heated argument, showcasing the couple’s resilience in overcoming challenges.
The lovebirds, who met on the reality show, have navigated fame, societal expectations, and personal struggles together. Today, Bambam and Teddy A stand as proud parents of two daughters, their bond growing stronger with each passing milestone.
