Nigeria’s Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, said the Nigerian federal government will recapture all the prisoners who escaped from the Abolongo Custodial Centre of Nigeria’s correctional service in Oyo state.
The Minister revealed that so far, security authorities have recaptured 446 out of the 907 who escaped.
He added that 69 prisoners did not escape from the correctional facility, and the security authorities are yet to identify the gunmen who carried out the attack on the correctional centre.
The Minister revealed this news when he was inspecting the facility yesterday, the 25th of October, in Oyo State.
“I am assuring Nigerians that the Federal government will pursue not just those who attacked our facility, but those who escaped lawful custody”, Nigeria’s Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, said.
“The attack is unconscionable. I commend officers of the Nigeria Correctional Service and other members of sister security agencies who provide perimeter security for our facility for fighting gallantly,” He added
