WAEC Release Results, Reveals How Many Students Failed, Passed, And Results Seized

The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has released the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) for this year.

WAEC said the students who participated in the exams should begin checking their results today, on Monday, November 22nd, 2021.

In their statement, which was released by the chairman of the head office, Patrick Areghan, a total of 1,573,849 candidates registered to write the exams from 19,425 recognised secondary schools in Nigeria.

WAEC added that out of the number of students who registered for the exams, 1,560,261 candidates sat for them.

Out of the total number of candidates who sat for the SSCE exam in Nigeria, WAEC said they have processed and released the results of 1,256,990 candidates, who represented 80.56% of all the candidates.

WAEC added that they are still processing the results of 303,271 candidates, who represent 19.44% of the candidates, and the reason is that the candidates have some issues with their subjects.

1,560,261 candidates received credits or higher in at least five subjects, with or without English Language and Mathematics.

At least five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, have been completed by 1,274,784 candidates.

WAEC also states that they seized the results of 170,146 candidates who were involved in different kinds of reported cases of examination malpractice.

Out of the 1,560,261 candidates who sat for the exams, 775,584 were females, and 784,677 were males. They represent 49.71% and 50.29%, respectively.

1,539 candidates who have different kinds of special needs registered for the exams; 582 have hearing problems, 460 have eye challenges, 362 are mentally challenged, and 59 are physically challenged.

In the state, the exam board said the Result Checker PIN and Serial Number that candidates need to use to check their results online are on the candidate smart identity card that they used to write their exams.
