United States Announce New Travel Rules For All International Travellers Because Of New Omicron Cases

President Joe Biden has announced strict COVID-19 travel rules as the United States confirms cases of the Omicron variant in the United States.

President Joe Biden made it clear that the plan is not to shut down or lockdown and not to expand vaccine mandates.

Authorities in the United States have discovered cases in California, Minnesota, Colorado, New York, and Hawaii.

State health officials have also reported mild symptoms of the new COVID-19 variant. The report added that they have found the new variant in 30 other foreign countries.

It is not yet clear if the Omicron variant can be transmitted easily or if there will be vaccines to stop its transmission or destroy the variant.

Joe Biden’s administration announced on Thursday that all international passengers will need to be tested for the virus 24 hours before they leave for the United States, no matter if they’ve taken the COVID-19 vaccine.

Joe Biden said that the tighter testing timeline will provide an additional level of protection as health experts and scientists go on with their studies on the Omicron variant.

Joe Biden added that the authorities will extend the requirement to wear masks before traveling on trains, aircraft, and public transportation all through the winter season.

The Joe Biden Administration also announced that they will restrict travel from Eswatini, Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Malawi, Namibia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa from the 29th of November till further notice because of concerns about the new variant.

Travel restrictions, according to scientists and health experts, will give them enough time to study the new variant.
