Popular Nigerian actress, Linda Osifo, has revealed her journey in life and how she entered the Nollywood movie industry.

The actress did an exclusive interview with BBC Pidgin, and in the interview, she said she left Nigeria to go abroad as a child but later discovered that she needed to return to her home country.

The Nigerian-born actress said she is happy about her achievement in the Nollywood industry, adding that she had considered bleaching her skin because of how Nigerians commented on her skin colour.

The popular actress said that the thought of changing her skin color was too much for her as Nigerians condemned her skin complexion.

“When I was growing up, I started having thoughts of bleaching my skin because people used to say I didn’t have a good skin color. They said my skin color was like monkey skin colour. ” Linda Osifo said

“At that time, they carried me from Benin City when I was just eight years old, and at that time, I just started to discover myself.” Linda Osifo said.

“I was 16 years old when I realised that it was acting I wanted to do in life. At that age, I was very involved in school drama and acting in church, ” Linda Osifo narrated.

By the time she was 22 years old, she left Canada and returned to Nigeria to begin her professional acting career in the year 2013.

“They rejected me many times. When I started, many producers did not know me. They had no idea who I was. I had gone for auditions many times and nobody came back to call me. ” She added.

“Despite my rejection, I did not stop looking for an opportunity. It was in 2015 that I had my big breakthrough when Mo Abudu involved me in her project, which was “Desperate Housewives,” which made them nominate me for the Best Actress award. ” She added.

“And that gave me hope that I would do well in the Nollywood industry. I looked at 2015 but now, I am just thanking God. ” She said
