The doctor who performed the first autopsy on the late Sylvester Oromoni Jnr. stated that if they had given the deceased enough antibiotics, blood transfusions, and intravenous fluid, he would still be alive.
Doctor Clement Vhriterhire said this when he climbed into the witness box on Monday during the coroner’s inquest to give testimony to help confirm what really killed the 12-year-old Dowen college student.
Sylvester Oromoni Jnr. died after he fell sick at school and he was allegedly beaten by fellow students before he died. which his school, Dowen College, denied.
The Lagos state government convened a coroner’s inquest to determine what killed Sylvester Oromoni.
Yesterday, Doctor Clement, who works in the Central Hospital in Warri, Delta State, during the inquest, said if he had handled the case at that time [when Sylvester was sick], he would have done a blood transfusion, as the last test result on the boy on November 30 showed he was clinically ill and needed close monitoring.
He used this opportunity to defend his original statement by saying that chemical intoxication caused his death. He gave that statement before the toxicology results ruled out the first statement.

Dr. Clement said the December 30 final autopsy report showed that pneumonia due to severe sepsis killed him.
According to him, on December 2nd, 2021, police sent a notice to conduct an autopsy on the deceased. By the end of the second week of December, the results were ready.
“I do not see anything that would show why the young boy died.” According to the doctor, he also had an acute lung injury in his body.
