Stop Abusing Federal Roads — President Buhari Warns Nigerians
President Muhammadu Buhari has warned Nigerians to avoid abusing federal roads built to promote economic growth and development.
Reports day that the President issued the warning during the official commissioning and handing over of a 55-kilometer federal road connecting Nguru-Gashu’a-Bayamari in Yobe State.
Buhari, who was represented by Power Minister Abubakar Aliyu, explained that the federal roads was built to the highest quality of design and workmanship, and that if it is well used and not abused, it will last for its design service life span.

According to him;
“Road abuse takes many forms such as overloading of vehicles and trucks which accelerates pavement damage, the spilling of petroleum products which dissolves all the components and allow water to penetrate and converting the federal roads’ shoulders to parking places that bring the onset of road failure from the shoulder.
We must all do our best to avoid these practices.
Report them when they occur and act in a lawful manner to stop them.”
