Six Women And Nine Children Escape From Boko Haram’s Hands After Months Of Captivity
The Commissioner of Women’s Affairs, Zuwaira Gambo, revealed that six women and nine children escaped from Boko Haram’s hands after a six-day journey through the forest.
The Commissioner revealed this on Monday, October 11th, 2021, after she presented the escapees to the Governor of Borno State, Babagana Zulum.
It was revealed that the women and children were not kidnapped anywhere near the forest as some of them came from villages in Adamawa and Yobe State.
Boko Haram kidnapped three of the escapees and their five children from Takulashi village in Borno state in October 2020, while some of them were kidnapped from Cofure village in Adamawa state in May 2021.
One of the escapees, an eight month old pregnant woman from Cofure village, journeyed for 6 days from Buni Yadi forest in Yobe state to Damboa town in Borno,
“I am very happy to receive my daughters after you have suffered in the hands of terrorists and I will do everything to support and help you all.” Born state Governor told the escapees.
