The Management Committee of the new Jum’at Mosque in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, will give the Imam his new appointment.
Senator Saidu Dansadau, the chairman of the Apo Assembly quarters mosque committee, sacked Sheikh Nuru Khalid because he did not show remorse in the comments he made for his sermon.
Sheikh Nuru Khalid was sacked on April 4, 2022, after the Apo Assembly suspended him.

On April 1st 2022, the ‘digital imam’, as people call him, gave a sermon where he talked about the Kaduna train attack that happened on Monday and the government’s failure to solve security problem.
On March 28, gunmen attacked a train traveling from Abuja to Kaduna, killing eight people. Another 21 people were kidnapped, while many more entered a bush.

“I want to announce to you all that we have gotten a new mosque and by Friday we would launch it, so to people who feel that they would deny us platform. That would not work, we have gotten a new Islamic centre,” Sheikh Nuru Khalid said in a video.
“Just yesterday a reverend called me to tell me that he played my Friday sermon in the mosque for his church congregation to listen to, I read sermon in the mosque and angered some people while some in the church blessed me for the same sermon.”

“So my own is that I am pitying people who are angry at me instead of being angry at them too.” he added
