
The Police arrested Peter Nwachukwu, the husband of the late popular gospel artiste, Osinachi Nwachukwu, after the death of his wife.
DSP Josephine Adeh of the FCT Police, was the one who confirmed the arrest.
She added that investigations are still ongoing.
The police said the arrest happened after the late singer’s brother filed a police report.
Before now, reports have been circulating that Osinachi has suffered domestic violence and that she was beat up by her husband before she died.
Osinachi, who was 42, passed away on Friday after spending some days in an undisclosed hospital in Abuja.

Many of her colleagues and some fans on social media accused her husband of beating her.
On Instagram live, popular singer, Frank Edwards, said that Osinachi’s husband used to beat her many times.
Since her passing, many fans of gospel music have sent tributes as they mourn Osinachi Nwachukwu.

Some people described her voice as angelic, and that she has the ability to touch people’s hearts.
Before her death, Osinachi was a singer and songwriter, who became very popular for her song ,Ekwueme, a collaboration she did with singer Prospa Ochimana.
Since the allegation of domestic violence came to light, many people have shared their own stories and questions on whether religious preaching make women stay in abusive marriages.

Osinachi, before her passing, was the lead singer for The Dunamis International Gospel Centre.
“It is better to be alive and no marriage, than to die because of marriage,” says the church.
