Minister of Communications and Digital Economy Prof. Isa Pantami has called for a global response to cybercrime.
Pantami made this point to a group of technology ministers at a future tech event in London called “The Future of the Internet: Trends and Opportunities.”

In an Abuja statement on Wednesday, his spokesman, Uwa Suleiman, claimed as much.
Pantami argued that a global strategy was needed because the demand for “datafication” across global economies was increasing.
He expected that the demand for daily data collection will continue to rise rapidly.

Based on research, the minister claims that just five exabytes of data were accumulated from the dawn of civilisation to the early 2000s.
“Today, 2.5 exabytes of data have been collected in less than 24 hours.” As a result, the amount of data generated has increased. Minister of Communications and Digital Economy Isa Pantami
