The Federal Government has directed the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) to allow Nigerians living abroad to return to Nigeria with expired international passports.
Mr Rauf Aregbesola, Minister of Interior, issued the directive in Lagos on Wednesday, July 13, saying Nigerians in diaspora were free to return home with expired or non-expired Nigerian passports.
He stated that no Nigerian needed a travel certificate to return home, except for children whose parents were Nigerians but whose identity had yet to be established under immigration rules.
