“My Father Was Ass@ssinated” – BBNaija’s Cross
Ikechukwu Sunday Okonkwo, popularly known as Cross, a former contestant of the Big Brother Naija reality show, opened up about a tr@gic event in his life during a recent interview with Arise TV.
Cross revealed that his father had been a victim of ass@ssination, a loss that deeply impacted him. Growing up without his father and being raised by his mother and siblings, he learned the value of not holding grudges and not taking life too seriously.
He explained, “I don’t hold grudges. I got that part of love from my mum and siblings. After my dad got ass@ssinated, it was more or less like we need to protect ourselves. So, right there, we became one another’s protectors. By sticking together and protecting ourselves, we realized that you shouldn’t take life too deep. You should put it on the surface, and what will happen will happen.”
Cross also shared his perspective on life’s impermanence, understanding that there is an inevitable end for everyone.
