BBNaija: “My Father @bandoned Us When I Was 4” – Pere

Pere Egbi, a finalist on Big Brother Naija All Stars, recently explained why he identifies his origin as Bayelsa, despite his father hailing from Delta State.
In an interview with media personality Hero Daniels, Pere clarified that he chooses to associate with Bayelsa because his father has not been a part of his life.

“He used to live in America before I was born, and after marrying my mum, he went back to America. Various circumstances led to my parents’ separation, and I was primarily raised by my mother.”

Pere continued to describe his life, noting that he is the first child and the only son in the family. His mother worked tirelessly to provide for their needs, including education, from kindergarten to secondary school. He eventually pursued a nursing degree in the United States after joining the US military and serving for six years.
Although he grew up in Warri, Pere emphasized that his father’s absence did not adversely affect him, as other male figures within the family stepped in to provide him with proper fatherly guidance.
