Michael Ataga: Highlights On Chidinma Ojukwu’s Trial On The 14th And 15th Of February 2021

The trial of Chidinma Ojukwu, the murder suspect of Super TV Chief Executive Officer, Michael Ataga, and two others continued on the 14th of February 2022, on valentine’s day, before te Lagos High Court, which is located in Tafawa Balewa Square.

Chidinma Ojukwu, who is a 300-level Mass Communication student at the University of Lagos, and two others were on trial for Michael Ataga’s murder.

When the case resumed for hearing, the prosecution witness, the fifth witness Rahman Obiora Saliu who is the partner for Super Network Limited, the parent company of Super TV, in Epe, talked about his relation ship with Michael Usifo Ataga which he said he is a co-founder, investor and CEO of the Super network limited.

“On Tuesday morning 15th of June 2021, which was scheduled for a exco meeting. I called him by 11am with the breaking news that an assignment had finished but he did not respond. I received a WhatsApp message from Michael Usifo Ataga saying ‘I saw your missed call, I took my drugs and it made me sleepy.” He said.

Rahman Obiora Saliu said the way the text was written was suspicious and it would not have been from Michael.

Super TV CEO’s Murder: How I overpowered, strangled Usifo Ataga— Chidinma

“So I sent a screenshot of the assignment but his response was “Ok great”. He was supposed to be 50 on Thursday which Michael Ataga planned to celebrate. On 16th of June, 2021, Michael did not show up, so I raised an alarm saying I did not know his whereabout. his phone was still going through but we could not reach him.”

On Thursday 17th of June, 2021 around 6:35am, Saliu said he got a call from Late Michael Ataga’s wife, Brenda, who asked of his whereabout, before she later called him again saying her husband was dead. he asked how she knew that he had died, because he knew her husband was not staying in Lagos with his family.

She replied saying she called the number which he gave her and a lady answered the call and informed her that her husband had died.

Saliu said he met with Nkechi Mogbo, the owner of the shortlet apartment where Michael Ataga was killed before they proceeded to the scene of the incident with the police.

Saliu said they killed Michael Ataga like a chicken with deep cuts on his bidy, on his neck to his back, on his stomach and around his ribs.

“I visited the mortuary where Michael body was. They killed him like a chicken. ” He said
