Masquerades Arrested After Allegedly Stealing 370,000 naira
In Ondo state, police arrested two masquerades because they were accused of allegedly stealing 370,000 naira.
The Masquerades allegedly attacked a man who is identified as Adinoyi Mohammed, the owner of the money they allegedly stole.
The masquerades identified as Sheriff Ojo and Muhammad Lukman are currently in police custody and will be charged in court.
The Spokesperson of Ondo State Police, Funmi Odunlami, released a statement saying that the two masquerades committed the offence in Melenge Community, Ipele Town in Owo Council, Ondo State.
“The two suspects paraded themselves as masquerades, attacked and injured Adinoyi Mohammed with a cutlass while stealing his money, a mobile phone worth 32,000 naira and a shirt worth 2,500 naira”, Spokesperson of Ondo State Police said.
The spokesperson also revealed that the suspects attacked and injured the victim’s father, Saliu Ajayi, and two cutlasses, masquerade clothes, and charms were recovered from the suspects.
