A Madagascan minister of police was among the two survivors who swam for 12 hours to land on the 21st of December, 2021, which was yesterday, after their helicopter crashed on the 20th of December, 2021.
Madagascar security authorities said they are still looking for two other passengers who were in the helicopter when it crashed near a north-east coast island.
Yesterday, Madagascan chief of police, Zafisambatra Ravoavy, said that 39 people died in the helicopter crash, and the number of deaths increased from over 18 people who died after their bodies were recovered by rescue operatives with the first trial.
The police and port authorities have revealed that they still do not know what caused the helicopter crash.

The Madagascan Minister of Police, Serge Gelle, and a policeman reached land, which is located in the seaside town of Mahambo, and the Chief of Port Authority, Jean-Edmond Randrianantenaina, said the two police officers reached the island separately. Yesterday morning, after they ejected themselves from the helicopter before it crashed
The Madagascan Ministry of National Defence shared a video on social media and it showed the 57-year old Madagascan minister of Police, Serge Gelle, who was on the floor, looking tired on a deck chair, still wearing his camouflage uniform.
