Lagos Police Spokesperson Replies Phyna After She Sl@mmed A Police Officer For Filming Her

SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, recently responded to an incident involving BBNaija Level Up winner Phyna, who found herself in an alterc@tion with the police for violating a traffic rule.

The alterc@tion began when Phyna was caught driving on a one-way road and was intercepted by the police. In response, one of the police officers began filming the incident on his phone after Phyna had clearly broken the law.

Phyna, however, was not pleased with the officer filming her and took to Instagram Live to express her frustration. She also confronted the officer for filming her without consent.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin, in a statement shared on his social media handle, addressed Phyna’s outburst and highlighted a double standard.

He pointed out that while many Nigerians don’t hesitate to film police officers when stopped by them, they view it as har@ssment when a police officer does the same to them.

He quoted a Nigerian saying, “If you were in my shoes, somebody carries a phone on your face, you’ll get angry.” SP Hundeyin’s response emphasized that people often provoke and record police officers in the line of duty, sometimes merely to agitate them and then quickly cry har@ssment.
