The day Obinwanne Okeke, also known as Invictus Obi, will be released from the United States’ prison has been published by the United States’ Federal Bureau of Prisons.
The Nigerian entrepreneur who was convicted by a United States court and sentenced to 10 years in prison will be released from prison in the year 2028.
Obinwanne Okeke, who is popularly known as Invictus Obi, will be released on the 3rd of September, 2028, and this was revealed on the United States’ court website.
On February 15, 2021, the United States’ court gave a 10-year prison sentence to Invictus Obi for his involvement in a computer-based intrusion fraud scheme.
The High Court said that Invictus Obi’s fraud scheme caused about 11 million dollars (over 4 billion naira) losses to his victims.

After his judgement, the United States Attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia, Raj Parekh, who judged the case, said;
“Today’s sentence further demonstrated EDVA’s and FBI’s worldwide reach to pursue justice on behalf of American victims and others.”
“And hold international cybercriminals accountable, no matter where they commit their crimes.” He added
The Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the Norfolk Field Office added after his sentencing that the FBI will not allow cyber criminals a free hand in the digital world to take advantage of United States companies.
“This sentencing demonstrates the FBI’s commitment to working with our partners in the Department of Justice and our foreign counterparts to locate cyber criminals across the world and bring them to the United States to face the court.” He further added,
Obinwanne Okeke is currently serving his sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI), Oakdale II in Western Louisiana, USA.
The prison is a low-security federal correctional institution with an adjacent minimum-security satellite camp.
The correctional institution has 86 inmates in the camp and a total population of 1,100 total inmates in the centre.
