“I owe you my freedom and my sanity” – Seun Kuti Breaks Silence After Release From Police Custody
After being released from police custody for nearly a week, Afrobeats superstar Seun Kuti has finally broken his silence.
Seun Kuti was released on bail from the State Criminal Investigation Department in Panti, Lagos, on Tuesday night, according to sources.
His counsel, Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika, SAN, verified this to Punch over the phone.
“Yes, Ṣeun Kuti was released minutes ago,” he said.

Following his release, the musician turned to Instagram to thank his wife, family, and attorneys.

He stated that he owes them his liberty and sanity.
“I want to say a profound thanks to everyone who showed me all this love. All my friends that showed up! Thanks most especially to my beautiful wife”.
In another article, Seun Kuti expressed gratitude to his legal team.
“Last but not least. The Legal team. Uncle Femi Falana (SAN), Uncle Olumide Fisika (SAN), Uncle Kayode Adegoke (SAN), and Barrister Ogunlana. Ade Ademiluyi. And everyone on the team. I owe u my freedom and my Sanity. Let’s go!!”.
