In Enugu state, the mother of a seven-year-old boy whose father allegedly buried him alive says she is traumatised by what happened.
His mother, who is identified as Onyishi, said in an interview on Thursday that she does not suspect her husband in any way and does not believe that he would use their son to perform a money ritual.
She added that her husband is a keke driver and they have six children together, and the child who died was their second born.
The Enugu state police said in a statement that they wrote to confirm the case of a missing child, saying that Chidi Onyishi, who is 36 years old, killed his own child.
The Spokesperson of the Enugu State Police, Daniel Ndukwe, said,
“Investigation revealed that Chidi Onyishi confessed to his crime and he led police officers to arrest a pastor named Okeke Eneokwor, who is 95 years old.
“After he confessed to his crime, Chidi later led police operatives and medical team to a stream in Abakpa-Nike, Enugu, where we brought out the r*tten body of the little boy who was buried in a shallow grave on the 20th of October, 2021.” The spokesperson said
