How My 12-Year-Old Physically Challenged Daughter Was Raped By A 60-Year-Old Man

In Rivers state, the Police have begun investigating the defilement of a 12-year-old physically challenged girl who a 60-year-old man allegedly raped in Ubima, Ikwerre’s local government area.

Eze Eleonu, the girl’s father who lives in a community in Rivers State, South-South Nigeria, said the incident occurred at her house on the 5th of March, 2022.

“When I got home from work, I noticed the door was open, and when I went into my room, I saw the suspect naked, right next to my physically challenged daughter, who was also naked.So i was in a hurry to hold him down and later raised an alarm before the area’s local vigilante came”

Immediately, I grabbed Victor, then raise n alarm to make people help me. I managed to tie a towel around his waist, but I had could not leave him be. anothet neighbor joined me, I shouted but he trief to lose the towel, ran out naked, but OSPAC came and caught him and later handed him over to Ubima Police Station.” Her father said.

The 12-year-old girl’s father added, “Before this incident, I hadn’t noticed blood stains on the pant and private parts of my physically challenged daughter because I was always bathing her.”

It is said that medical examination was conducted on the little girl, saying penetration didn’t happen.

“I want the police to charge the matter in court without further delay, as that is the only way I will get justice for my daughter, who is deaf, dumb, and crippled.” Her father said.

Police spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the suspect was transferred from the Ubima police station to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) in Port Harcourt, and the case was charged in court after the investigations were completed.
