Nigerian Police Allegedly Kill 18-Year-Old Highschool Graduate
In ijesha area of Lagos state, southwest Nigeria, Nigerian police allegedly killed a young girl during a police night raid.
Their bullet killed an 18-year-old secondary school graduate, Monsurat Ojuade, who was waiting for her university admission, on Friday, September 10th, 2021, when some police men conducted a night raid in Ijesha area.
Monsurat Ojuade’s Elder sister, Tosin Ojuade, said during the night raid a police bullet shot into their compound. She added that the bullet hit her sister in her laps, which made her lose much blood.
“We rushed her to a private hospital. They referred us to Igbobi General Hospital,where the nurses said the doctors are on strike. By the time we reached the third hospital, they declared her dead. ”
Monsurat Ojuade’s immediate elder sister, Olaide, said she was with her when the bullet hit her.
“This is not an accidental discharge, they shot her directly”. Olaide bursts in anger.
The death of Monsurat came two months after police bullet allegedly killed a sales girl named Jumoke,which happened on July 1, 2021, when police officers dispersed protesters at the Yoruba Nation rally in Ojota, Lagos.
The 20-year-old Sales girl was found in a pool of blood after being shot by stray bullets.
