Federal Government Officially Declares Bandits As Terrorists In Gazette
The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially declared bandit groups that operate in any part of Nigeria as terrorists.
Their declaration was revealed in the Federal Government’s Gazette, which banned and forbade their existence and stopped anyone or any group of people from participating in the activities of any of the groups.
They released the official gazette which the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, signed on January 5, 2022.

Their declaration came after the Federal High Court in Abuja’s ruling, which declared bandit groups as terrorists.
In the ruling, which was delivered by Justice Taiwo Taiwo on November 27, 2021, the court said the activities of the Yan Bindiga and Yan Ta’adda bandit groups are acts of terrorism.
The ruling followed the ex-parte motion that the Federal Government of Nigeria had filed through the Federal Ministry of Justice.
