Federal Government Accuses Nnamdi Kanu Of Other Crimes

The Nigerian Federal government has accused the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra [IPOB] of new charges.

The Nigerian Federal government said that Nnamdi Kanu allegedly used an online radio belonging to Biafra to cause violence in Nigeria.

The Minister of Justice, Abubakar, said Nnamdi Kanu allegedly encouraged members of the Indigenous People of Biafra [IPOB] to commit violent attacks.

Abubakar Malami, who is also the Attorney General of the Federation, listed the alleged crimes in a media briefing which happened in Abuja yesterday, on the 22nd of October 2021.

The Nigerian Federal Government’s accusation came 24 hours after the IPOB’s leader’s trial began in the federal high court in Abuja.

Nnamdi Kanu has denied all seven counts of terrorism and treasonable felony charges he is facing. Abubakar Malami also said that the Federal government has identified those who are abroad who followed Nnamdi Kanu to terrorize Nigeria.

Through Abubakar Malami, the Nigerian Federal Government said that Nnamdi Kanu used his radio broadcast to initiate violence against civil and democratic institutions, especially the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Abubakar Malami also said that he used his radio broadcasts to destroy public and private properties across Nigeria.

“His co-plotters in Nigeria and abroad, individuals and groups as well as state and non-state actors, facilitate his campaign against the people and state of Nigeria.” Abubakar Malami said.
