F.G Reveal How Nigeria Will Celebrate Independence Day
The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, announced that the Nigerian Federal government has declared Friday, October 1st, 2021 as a public holiday to mark Nigeria’s 61st Independence Day Celebration.
He congratulated Nigeria on behalf of the Federal Government for this year’s celebration and added that the Federal government is committed to stop and destroy all Nigeria’s challenges.
Rauf Aregbesola stated that Nigeria must celebrate it’s 61st Independence Anniversary but President Muhammadu Buhari is concerned about Nigeria’s security problems and Covid-19 third delta variant wave, which might affect the celebrations.
Nigerians are allowed to celebrate Independence Day, but not in a grand way.
The Minister also wished Nigerians a fruitful independence celebration and reminded them of what Nigeria’s founding fathers said. They said despite the differences in faith, tribe, and tongue, they came together for Nigeria’s independence.
Local reports say that the general celebration to mark Nigeria’s 61st Independence Day celebration took place on Sunday, the 26th of September, 2021 in Abuja with a Thanksgiving service.
Nigeria’s Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, along with Christian leaders and his wife, attended the Thanksgiving service.
