Emirates Suspends All Flight Operations In Nigeria

Emirates airline has suspended flights between Nigeria and Dubai as of December 13th, 2021.

The airline said the development will last until the UAE and Nigerian authorities work on a solution to the ongoing issue.

The issue is that Nigeria recently imposed a directive which reduced them to operating just one flight per week to Nigeria through Abuja.

The Airline is the airline partner of Emirates. statement on the 10th of December, 2021 saying:

The last flights to operate on December 12th, 2021 will be EK 783/784 to/from Lagos and EK 785/786 to/from Abuja.

The Airline is the largest airline and one of two flag carriers of the UAE.

Customers from Nigeria with tickets to Lagos or Abuja will not be accepted at the point of origin.

It also means that those who are traveling into Nigeria now will be rejected from the place where they booked their flight.

The airline is based in Garhoud, Dubai. The airline is a subsidiary of Their Group, which is owned by the government of Dubai’s Investment Corporation of Dubai.

It has just been two weeks since Emirates resumed Lagos and Abuja flights after 10 months of suspended operations due to disagreement with Nigeria, and yet they are suspending another flight.
