Nnamdi Kanu did not plead guilty or not guilty to the amended charges which were against him today as the court adjourned the trial to January 19, 2022.
The defense for the Ipob leader told the judge that he could not plead because the defence team did not have time to study the amended charges and have a discussion with their client.
The court later adjourned the trial to the 19th of January, for the defence to study the amended charges and talk to their client.
Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Mike Ozekhome, was the one who led the legal team today when the Ipob leader’s trial continued.
Earlier, the Nigerian government filed fresh additional charges against the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Nnamdi Kanu, from 7 to 15 as his trial resumed today in court.

He had faced a seven-count charge which bordered on terrorism, secession, treason and that he was a member of the IPOB group which the Nigerian Federal government had outlawed.
He is also facing charges that he broadcast a lie about President Muhammadu Buhari, but Kanu has denied all the allegations.
Nnamdi Kanu’s legal team, who confirmed the new charges, said the Nigerian government filed the charges not up to 24 hours before the main trial.
They were supposed to give us the amended charges as time had made them amend them to give us and the defendant, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, but we did not see him till yesterday.” He said.
