Court Remands Chidinma, Alleged Murderer Of Michael Usifo
Chidinma Ojukwu, who is allegedly the killer of Super TV boss Usifo Ataga, will appear in court today in Lagos, Nigeria.
In August, The Magistrate court in Yaba, Lagos, remanded her for 30 days pending advice from the Department of Public Prosecution, DPP. Chidinma Ojwuku’s lawyer did not oppose the remand.
Because he was expecting the remand. The last time Chidinma appeared in court, Magistrate Adeola Adedayo remanded her and someone called Adedapo Quadri to prison custody. The court did not give them any chance to talk during the court session.
The court also remanded four others, including Chidinma’s father, Mr. Onoh Ojukwu, in prison because he and a man called Mr. Babalola Disu, allegedly blocked the police from arresting Chidinma.Today the court will look into advice from the DPP to move the case forward, which means that the DPP will decide whether Chidinma has a case to answer or not.
Between the time of the remand order and now, the family of Usifo Ataga and their lawyer came out to accuse the police of protecting the killers of Michael Usifo, saying they were treating Chidinma like a VIP as they carried her in a UBER when she went to court for the last session.
According to local reports, the Inspector general of police responded to the allegation by transferring the case from Lagos to Abuja
