“My Sister Did Not Deserve To Die” – Bamise Ayanwole’s Sister Griefs

As tears flowed down her face, this is how Oluwabamise Ayanwole’s elder sister described Bamise in an exclusive interview with BBC Pidgin when they visited the family’s home in the Iyana Ipaja area of Lagos state on the 7th of March, 2022.

My sister is a good girl. Bamise does not get upset. She did not deserve to die.” She said

The 22-year-old’s family members asked for justice as they did not believe that someone would not be safe in a government-approved means of transport.

“The government has failed us,” her elder sister, Omilana Ruth, said.
