BRT Driver, Andrew Nice, Allegedly Involved In Bamise Ayanwole’s Murder, Has Been Remanded By The Court

The magistrate court in Yaba, Lagos has remanded bus rapid transit (BRT) driver Andrew Nice in prison custody till the 11th of April 2022.

Andrew Nice was the BRT driver who carried the late 22-year-old Bamise Ayanwole from Chevron, Lekki to Oshodi on Saturday, February 26th, 2022 before they declared her missing.

The 47-year-old driver is the major suspect in the killing of Bamise, who is a fashion designer.

Police said they arrested him on Monday after they found the body at Carter Bridge, Lagos Island. The Lagos

police command took the driver to court on Friday to ask for more time to hold him and complete their investigation as the normal time to hold a person under the constitution has elapsed.

And Magistrate O.A Salawu remanded Andrew Nice in police custody for 30 days. And after that, they would take him back to court.

Reports say that Bamise entered a BRT bus on February 26, 2022, when she was going from Lekki to the Oshodi area of Lagos to see her elder brother, Pelumi.

She did not reach her destination that day, which made her family anxious.

Her sister claimed that Bamise was chatting with her friend when she sensed danger on the bus. She even sent photos and videos before her phone died.

It took about a week before the police found her dead.
