Afenifere Lambasts Adeshina Over Comments On Critics

Afenifere, the pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, has descended on Femi Adeshina, the Special Adviser to the President, on Media and Publicity, over his comments on Buhari’s critics.

Adesina was reported to have said he had stopped attending a church in Abuja because the pastor has left his assignment of feeding the sheep to to attacking the Buhari administration.

Mr Sola Ebiseni, who is the Secretary General of the pan-Yoruba organization, had said in a statement on Saturday that the Buhari administration had performed terribly bad and deserved to be criticised.

The statement noted that men of God from the biblical era had always told the government the truth.

He cited Prophet Samuel confronted King Saul of Israel; Nathan’s fearless message to David when he murdered Uriah because of his wife Bathsheba and Elijah’s words to Saul that he and his household were the ones who trouble Israel.

He went further to cite modern days government critics like Martin Luther king, Desmond Tutu, Archbishop Okogie, Bishop Gbonigi, Matthew Kukah, and Tunde Bakare.

Just as he listed men who spoke to the early  rulers in the Bible, he also stated that there are legions of men, like the 400 prophets of Ahab against Micaiah and of Baal, who lurk around the power that be to rob the egos of rulers and cause them to sin the more.

According to Mr Sola Ebiseni, Such advisers like the false prophets abound in this government who massage the egos of the President making him feel that he has power over peoples’ land and the people can choose between their lives and land for herdsmen.

These advisers deceive the President making him believe that peaceful agitators like Sunday Igboho have capacity for territorial secession or that silencing  Nnamdi Kanu would stop Biafran agitation.

”Only God can safe rulers from such counsels as He did of Ahitophel.”, He said.
