Marriage Pressure: Man Relocates From Dubai To Abuja, To Kidnap His Girlfriend, A Diplomat’s Daughter

The Intelligence Response Team (IRT) of the Force Intelligence Bureau (FIB) detained a suspected kidnapper who claimed he planned to kidnap his ex-lover in order to gather money to marry her due to marriage pressure

Bello Ahmed, a 25-year-old citizen of Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), stated he planned to kidnap his lover, Hannah Queen, when she pressed him to marry her.

Bello Ahmed, 25, Ibrahim Mohammed, 30, Bilyamiyu Mohammed, 30, and Uche Daniel, all in their twenties and thirties, were identified as the suspects. Ahmed moved to Nigeria and rented a three-bedroom property in the victim’s estate in Apo, Abuja, according to reports.

According to reports, he carried out the kidnapping on March 26 at Suniville Estate in Apo, and the matter was reported to the police by one of the victim’s uncles, who is an Assistant Commissioner of Police, and the suspects were apprehended after she was released.

When the victim came to visit, the suspect staged an invasion of his apartment, making it appear as if his accomplices had kidnapped him and his lover. The victim, a lawyer and the daughter of a well-known ambassador, was unwinding in her living room when the gang broke in and kidnapped her and her partner.

After the criminal gang members took them into captivity, he made the victim believe that he had sent N10 million to the kidnappers for their release through a fake bank alert until she discovered the antics and started calling her parents for her release. The key suspect confessed that they expected a total of N50 million as ransom from the parents of the victim, adding that he had expected that the gang would get up to at least N10 million naira (N10 million) each.

According to the police, investigations revealed that Ahmed was married and had two children in Dubai, adding that he planned to keep Queen as his second wife.

Ahmed confessed, saying, “My ex-lover put so much pressure on me to marry her, and I kidnapped her in order to raise the money I needed. I regret my involvement in the act.”
