The Nigeria police Special Fraud Unit arraigned two church workers of Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministry, which is popularly known as Grace Nation International or Liberation City, because of allegations of thirteen million naira fraud.

The two church workers, Success Ibilibor Udoka and Prosper Chinonso Iheukwumere, faced Justice Hakeem Oshodi of the Lagos State High Court, Ikeja, on February 17, 2022, because they were accused of stealing their church’s money.

The police Head of Legal Department Oga Emmanuel Jackson, who represented the police in charging the women with a four-count charge, told the court that the police were ready for trial. He urged the court to take their plea.

According to SFU, the defendants committed the offence between 2019 and 2020. In the church, which is located in plots 4 to 12, Oshofisan St., Ojodu, Berger, Lagos.

The money is from the sale of various spiritual materials and items that belong to the church. They deliberately failed to pay into the church’s bank account.

They faked different money-related entries with Point of Sale payment receipts and sales books that belong to the church. They had the church’s name in their hand as sales supervisor and sales representative.

The defendants did so in order to deceive the church that the financial records of their daily sales were accurate and balanced, Jackson said.

The defendants, however, denied the charges.
